Ubuntu 8.04 - I open nautilus as root, create a file on my normal user
desktop, and then close root's nautilus. As a user, I can edit the file
but not save it, as expected. I right-click the file's icon and click
"move to the deleted items folder"; it is moved to trash despite me not
being the own

Note that the memory usage appears related to the text highlighting.
I loaded a moderately large (~100MB) XML file. Once the initial load

Unfortunately a lot of BIOSes are broken and report a wrong lid status.
The only reliable method of knowing the lid status is seeing it
changing, so we shouldn't make g-p-m depend on the initially reported
lid status. There's unfortunately not a lot upower could do about it.

is when you set the mouse to be left handed -- I don't recall changing
the cursor size. Removing this file fixed it so my input (from keyboard)

So it turns out that the remaining behavior actually was introduced on
purpose in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331655 and is not
a logic error. The use case was "If I undock, I usually want the
computer to suspend, so that I can immediately take it away and not have
to open and close
I think I have the same problem on my Thinkpad T510. When I mute sound
using the ubuntu controls, the light on the mute button does not turn
off.
