after boot splash screen. So I repeated this: I noticed that GDM won't
start after hard boot, but it runs normally after soft

I can confirm this. When gnome-screensaver is activated by power management I
must login twice if the screen is also locked.If the screen is not locked then
the display starts up twice. When the screen is locked or the machine is
suspended through the main menu (no screensaver) then login is OK.

I updated from Karmic to Lucid and now I have this problem as well. Do I
need to attach the xorg.conf file? I noticed there were some changes
between the versions of Karmic and Lucid, made by the update-manager.
