Is this a single personal computer where you installed Lucid yourself or do you
have some fancy network settings?

starting evolution... so for me disabling that feature allowed me to

I've made several attempts to burn a DVD from an ISO image. The ISO
image works fine when opened directly with VLC. However, every attempt
to burn the ISO with brasero results in an unknown error during
