It's still an issue, but only if you're not using empathy with the

I was using automatic login (but the account is not a member of the
nopasswdlogin group) when I filed the original bug report. I tried
disabling auto login, but that only made things worse, now every

FYI - this has been resolved in 2.30. The user can now as well select
which address books should display in the birthdays & anniversaries

Maybe it's obvious, but for sake of completeness I should also mention
that it's the exact same problem when watching videos, say a series or a
movie split up on several parts, if there is a text file in the
directory.

Confirmed.
