The debug log shows the fade type being set to FADE_TYPE_GAMMA_RAMP in
check_gamma_extension, due to the presence of the XF86VM extension. The
xtrace log shows XF86VidModeGetGammaRampSize in gamma_fade_setup return
a size of zero, at which point the fade type is changed to

Same problem for me on complete new install of 10.04.
I burned a standard CDR... it burned OK but didn't eject.
Right mouse clicking the CD icon on the desktop and selecting "Eject"
works. Brasero is obviously not calling the standard "eject" code as
all other eject methods seem to work.

I have seen that in alsamixer (the terminal version) all channels were on mute

Same here. Thinkpad T42p with ATI Radeon FireGL T2. Display goes dim
after a few minutes. Can be brightened again using the fn-home key
combination.
Same as Memartin: switching to a console with ctrl-alt-f1 then switching
back with ctrl-alt-f7 results in the screen being dimmed.

Wow, I didn't know it was possible to burn symlinks, but there it is:
there needs to be an -f option to genisoimage or you get a symlink (or
nothing) instead of the file. I did a test with brasero and I got the
file rather than the link.
Take a look in the gconf-editor, under apps/brasero/filter.
One of the updates fixed this issue.

Using Gnome the display does not dim on boot, and "ctrl-alt-f1 ctrl-

Paul, this report status was not set to Invalid, it was set as
Incomplete, and it is still incomplete. Please tell us the version of
the package you are using (look at Synaptic Package Manager). Also,
