I can't reproduce the bug right now, because it happens randomly for me.
But it looks exactly like the screenshot that's attached to this bug
report: it's a 1 pixel vertical black line that appears next to an icon
in the system tray.

Another workaround; after clicking applet icon right click it again, now
controlling with mouse should work.
I tested patch above and it fixes the problem for me. Funny thing, this
time if you right click on applet icon it sticks to the screen and only
way to dismiss it is to click icon again.

This is the sole reason why I cannot use Empathy as my main IM client.
I've embarrassed myself quite a few times (woke some people up) thinking
"Hey look my friend is online at 4am, wonder what he/she's up to?", only

The steps to reproduce the issue with me are exactly the ones described
in the Bug Description.
Chat menu, add contact, account msn, in the identifier field I type the
e-mail address of a friend, hit tab or click anywhere, his e-mail
address gets replaced with mine after a couple of seconds.

On a freshly upgraded Ubuntu 10.4 Rhythmbox can now see and play tracks
from my iPhone 3G (OS 3.2)
However, with no user intervention it then tries to synchronise the
music library to the iPhone (or maybe visa-versa).

Since lucid removed the ability to see the location as a text string, it
means you can't copy the location onto the clipboard and it breaks a
whole bunch of workflows for copying the location and pasting it into
other windows.
