I can confirm this bug and have attached another pdf which triggers the
crash. The password is "fightforyourright". Interestingly, the pdf is
shown properly for 0,5 seconds before evince disappears.
Right now, there are about 20 users around me running Ubuntu 9.10, they
can all open the document.
I'm running up-to-date 9.10 on an AOD250, and it suspends whenever I
plug or unplug the A/C adapter.
I haven't noticed that it misbehaves when it becomes "finished charging".
Also see the problem of not suspending on lid close, but that's a different
issue (bug 400097)

Sebastien, I have fixed this. Looking into xsession-errors I have found that
gnome was not able to access $HOME/.dbus
That folder had wrong "root" owner.
I have removed it and reboot. Now the folder has correctly been created with
user grants and desktop icons are working again.

there is no crash in those log, could you try if that's still an issue
in lucid though?
