It seems the issue is still there. Note that creating a startup entry
for "gnome-volume-control-applet" is not a fix but a workaround. If this
is all you did, please let me know. The actual bug will be fixed once a
user can do a distribution upgrade without losing the volume control

I upgraded today and I lost the volume applet.
I started a Lucid upgrade this morning at 8:50 EDT albeit with the beta2
DVD. An hour later I mopped up with a network upgrade.

It seems like there's some circular logic happening on this bug status -
it's reported here, but closed at gnome because it's a dupe, the dupe is
a reference to this bug, and this is invalid because there's an upstream
bug. Bleh!

I've been having this too. The effect seems to be that the music stops
playing.
The console says:

I recently signed the Launchpad CoC, so I plan to not engage in people's
personal issues.
I think the changes made to the themes are awesome. Having the buttons
on the left makes for shorter travel distance between closing one window
and opening the menu to get the next application started.

middle-click. It takes an unhuman skill to perform a 3-finger tap, so
with 2-finger tap assigned to right-button, the only usable way to

as it's the same password for logins. Pidgin had the ability to not save
the account password, and thus prompted for it every time it started.
