I don't know if this is related but empathy doesn't work for me from the
first time at all. I need to do quit and run it again many time to work.

2) add a new password to this user, but tick the "log in automatically" box
3) log out and try to log in with the new user using a different desktop

- You will be prompted to fill in e new password for the Gnome keyring, fill
out a password twice
- Skip the "people close by" account creation
