Ari Torhamo's comment is absolutely correct - that is simply
unacceptable behavior, especially when the fix is simply to give the
user a little bit more information.

Just not hearing anything. I installed the recommended plug-ins, but
cannot get it working. Is there a "TEST" program I can use to check it
out? Please help. I am using UBUNTU 9.4 and like it very much!
