Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic - system crashes while playing music in Rhythmbox after
Getting this on ubuntu netbook remix 10.04 alpha2 kernel 2.6.32-11.
Both my devicekit-disks and my dbus are more recent than the ones metioned as
fixes.

dbus 1.2.16-2ubuntu2
apport automatically directed me to thus side.

With libgvfscommon0 1.5.1-0ubuntu2 installed, it works. However if I
upgrade to 1.5.2-0ubuntu1, that's when I start to see the problem with
nautilus.

I used to have a full day of week, month day, 12hr, etc clock in my own
time zone, and then a second clock with just 24hr format utc time. At
some point, this broke. Its really hand on unix systems to have quick
access to UTC and its really frustrating to have such a simple feature
broken.

Hi Gabe,
I'm just now playing Rhythmbox since it happened and I won't play it for
long tonight. I'll get back to you tomorrow or Friday and let you know
if it works for extended periods. If the system crashes again I'll also

My two cents here if it d help someone:
This bug was triggered to my system (Jaunty) when i edited the program menu by
remmoving some entries. Eg. removing the metacity entries (About 10 of them)
which i have i no idea how they appeared in the program menu -unchecked- caused
metacity not to run.

Well it is not fixed here it still crashes after about 45 minutes of play,
not very important as I use another spider game(not in the gnome game

when viewing mp3 files in rhythmbox it appears that all songs have
multiplied so that there are now 4 to 5 versions of each song. However
when I look at the actual folder where the files reside it still only
list the original files.

HELP... the songs are multiplying everytime I open the application!
Now all the extra songs are deleting themselves.

The song listing went up to 15 days of music and several, several
thousand mp3 files... not the files appear to be deleting themselves and
I'm now back down to 4 days of music or about 1000 songs. The
application seems to be functioning fine now.

We have a lot of computers running Jaunty (9.04) in our schools and our
users are having this behaviour too.
As antonioni said, it occurs randomly.
