Same problem with Karmic amd64 on my Inspiron 1501. The remaining time
is usually 3 - 24 hours when unplugging and almost always says critical
or below critical level when plugging in, often causing the computer to
hibernate, though my percentage remaining rarely drops below 75%.

am seeing this bug on a clean Karmic install.
it's as if the file chooser dialogue is "inactive" in some way... if you
click one of the buttons (a radio button, or check box), e.g. all files
or selected files (even if it's the same one as is already selected,
when you click "extract" it works fine
btw, a colleague with a similarly clean Karmic install, gets exactly what you'd
expect... extract then extract performs the extraction.

smbclient -k '\\dfs\path\' -c 'list' to get the real path to the server.

and i found a way to reproduce it. open nautilus click on folder in the
side pane (om26er for me) then click on desktop(side pane icon) and then
click on a third location (not om26er) and select a folder and click
ctrl+c/ctrl+x and it wont happen the first time

I can confirm Imre's behavior...and i'm with TL about the annoyin'
part...desktop is the nerd natural habit...U can't mess with
that...would be like to mess with your dad's real desktop...dunno yours
but mine will kill me!
