The notification area holds more than just the wireless icon (e.g.
volume indicator, bittorrent status information, etc). So, the name and
icon are correct for what the applet does.
Perhaps adding the name of the applet being removed to the "Remove from
Panel" menu item could be a solution?

I'm running Karmic, and am still experiencing this bug. I'll try
bumping the time_action and time_critical values to more conservative
settings, and will post an update soon. As I have an old battery, my
Thinkpad's critical power level is around 5%. Hibernate should occur at
4%, or 3% at the abs
P.S. When running gnome-power-manager in verbose mode, I get no output
before hibernate doesn't occur and the system dies. I mounted my
partition -o sync, and tail -f gpm.log in another tab, just to make sure
I wouldn't miss anything.

Actually I take one thing back; deleted default views are NOT still
available through the View menu. I created custom views to replace the
ones that I deleted, and those are what I have on the View menu. They
are accessible that way, but are not called up by the toolbar icons.

Hello,
I can confirm this bug in Ubuntu Karmic Koala.
In my case its much more serious - just pressing delete button, without shift
deletes file when in a rename mode.
Very annoying! Maybe its not Nautilus - the same is happening on desktop,
without opening Nautilus.
Nautilus 1.2.28.1 Gnome 1.2.

I tryed this issue on Ubuntu 9.10 and it seems that the bug isn't present
anymore.
On 8.04 (at least in my installation) it's very annoying (in this situations
task are unusable) but I don't think Ubuntu developers could fix this on that
distro so, for me, the bug could be considered fix
