Yes, 9.04 was more stabile for me than 9.10, who crashed often. It was upgraded to 9.10 from 9.04 online (via Update Manager). I thought many times to go back to 9.04, but I made an experiment: I formated the disk with EXT4 and made a clean install of 9.10. Now it works terrific. No crashed for now

Nope, EXT4 has nothing to do with it. I'm using ext4 since the 9.04 and Rhythmbox wasn't crashing untill I upgraded to 9.10 via update-manger. And as I wrote in bug, which seems to be closed as duplicate, for me this happens on tracks with replay-gain info only. -- rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV
