A little update about what I said earlier, the problem stilt isn't gone
actually. After a restart there's most of the time still a lock after
suspend. It seems to depend on if the wireless is active or not and if
the sudo password was used in a terminal before going into suspend. So
its not really

About the hang problem: do you get the hang even when the new password

thank you for your response and time for me to apologize - I guess. the
iPod is 100% full (see below) and of course cannot store any more songs.
however, there are only 227 songs visible. I believe I did fill the iPod
with 'invisible' songs when trying gtkpod to manage songs on the iP
For me "cat /proc/acpi/battery/*/*" (as the user, not root) makes gnome-
power-manager figure things out (at least until the next time the ac is
plugged in)... Also since the karmic upgrade (when this problem
started), my only battery shows up as BAT1 under /proc/acpi/battery. I
used to be BAT0..
Normally the configuration is held in $HOME/.gconf, but apparently is
being held somewhere different... Sorry for those details being wrong.
In any case, the configuration was reset upon an upgrade of gdm.

I changed the driver from nvidia-185 to nvidia-173 and it fixed the
colors. But when I changed back to nvidia-185 the color are wrong again.
I had this problem with jEdit on 8.10 and the workaround
(*multiClickTime: 400) in /etc/X11/Xresources/X11-common worked for me.
I have now updated to Karmic and the workaround no longer works.
Neither did putting it in ~/.Xdefaults. I found that I had to put it in
~/.Xresources for it to work.

I believe I am experiencing the same problem. If I already have a song playing
or paused, I have no issues. If the player says "Not Playing", any attempt to
start playing a song fails the first time; the track name shows, the play
button is depressed, but the song stays at 0:00. I can then make

Tried to recreate this problem on 9.10 and wasnt able to - seemed to work as
normal.

Details to reproduce it were to install Xubuntu 8.10, go to Add Users,
change your password, exit Add Users. At that point, you can not use
sudo for anything because you must log out and log back in. As I already
