The same problem occurs in Vuze as well. As far as I know, both Eclipse
and Vuze use SWT GTK. The workaround of setting the GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS
variable also solves it in Vuze.

Tried to install some of my commercial linux apps/games. But all refuse
to work because libgtk1.2 is not installed/installable, since it was
removed from karmic :-(
I guess this might affect many commercial linux applications and games.

editor to change the behaviour of the gnome-power-manager. I set the key
/apps/gnome-power-manager/actions/critical_battery from "suspend" to

I've patched glocalfileinfo.c with Takehiko Abe patch¹, rebuilded
libglib2.0-0_2.22.2-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb and
libglib2.0-data_2.22.2-0ubuntu1_all.deb and now it works for me too! All
symlinks are restored correctly.

Another information:
I use Evolution in my netbook, and I backup it's data to a pendrive, and once
in a while I restore it to work in my desktop.
My netbook still has Ubuntu 9.04 (as my ONDA 3G modem did not work in
Karmic).

Yep, the blinking is fixed for me on a fresh install of Karmic server (I
wanted RAID6 support at install) with ubuntu-desktop installed. The gdm
package gets my OK for moving to updates. 'cause, you know, I know you
were waiting for /my/ OK, right? =)
