I confirm this behavior on Brasero 2.26.1. The ISO file and the burned
CD have the same md5 hash value, but Brasero reports that the md5 hash

It was a bit drastic, but I reformatted the problem partition with the
Gparted live CD and did a clean install of Karmic. It solved my sound
issues.

This is a log of me opening rhythmbox. Playing a file, seeking to near
the end, waiting for it to end, and then it does the jump around bit and
goes to the next track.
I plan on having a poke around in the source later, I've fixed a similar
bug in rhythmbox before, so I'm marginally familiar with
"log" is not part of the command to run
