rm ~/.gnome2/keyrings/login.keyring
I could then commit to svn without receiving the "Password for 'login'
GNOME keyring:" challenge.

I had the same problem - restarting the "PolicyKit Authentication Agent"
service did the trick.
Now every time I tried to mount a partition it prompted me for the super user
password (see the screenshot).

This is a bug, not because I expect it to use a non available directory,
but because the change made by xdg-user-dirs-update to ~/.config/user-
dirs.dirs is PERMANENT (unless you manually edit the file the fix the
path).

i wasn't able to start gues session (fglrx drivers...) but i deleted all
rhytmbox config files and launched it from clean state - and everything
works correctly since then.

I had this problem too. I wonder if it's related to the programs I had
opened when I last logged off? I had a pdf viewer (evince, I think) and
a few wmblob programs open when I shutdown. I tried a livecd, and when I
rebooted after that, the crash and only the pdf viewer were there.

Due to a package bug, you have been left with the Jaunty kernel (2.6.28)
instead of the Karmic kernel (2.6.31). The solution is simple. From
the Terminal, run the command 'sudo update-grub' which should recogize
the proper kernel to use. Then reboot the machine and double-check the
