I am not a programmer and not that versed on how things in Linux work;

1) In Totem, open the video.
2) To save time, put the cursor a few seconds from the end of the video, and
play the rest.
3) When the video is end, minimize the Totem's window by clicking on the
Totem's button of the Window List.

This problem occurred when I upgraded to 9.10 RC (I wrote 9.04 RC above,
but I meant 9.10). When I did a clean installation of 9.10, the problem
did not occur. I suspect that pollution unique to my system accounts

Due to a package bug, you are currently running the Jaunty kernel
(2.6.28) instead of the Karmic kernel (2.6.31), which has caused sound
trouble. Try running 'sudo update-grub' to have the karmic kernel boot
up and then reboot.

Hi Sebastien,
yes, every time I open a connection to 192.168.10.1 inside nautilus, the
ftp "mount point" isn't showed and the home directory appears.
Navigate through Network on the left side of the application and Nautilus
will identify that a FTP service is running. Double click in the icon.

Due to a package bug, you are still running the Karmic kernel (2.6.28)
instead of the Jaunty kernel (2.6.31). If you boot into the Jaunty
kernel, the sound should be fine. You can try 'sudo upgrade-grub' and
that should set the correct kernel to boot into by default.
