crash on reboot in which case a non issue or something which can lead to

I used gnome-specimen to see which font is used to render "∑" character and the
only font which contains a glyph for "∑" with a wrong shape is "Symbol".
ttf-symbols-replacement package (recommended by wine1.2) contains this font and

Ok. I found out my keyboard did not work on the computer so I finally
used another keyboard and typed 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' in the

No printers are displayed, just like in the initial screenshot. If I save the
file, close evince, start it again from cmdline and load the PDF, then I can
print.

My 'workaround' is to set the brightness level in 'System-Preferences-Power
Management' to '0 %'.
I also have turned off all options in there for Dimming the display or reducing
brightness.
This stops the flashing at startup, or when coming out of suspend.

i too am having the exact same problem as Mladen Trisc (without the
power failure), and nothing i do ever seems to solve it! i spent hours
on the net in forums and what not and nothing solved my problem. I also
had the same problem when i was using 8.10 and i was not able to solve

To facilitate Nautilus sorting files and folders per "en_US.iso88591", I
placed the following in ~/.profile:
export LC_COLLATE="en_US.iso88591"
This accomplishes my Nautilus sort preference but prevents Update
Manager from launching. Plus
maybe 2.28.1.1 have fixed this bug.

presented with a "Log In" button, rather than a username and password
entry field. Disabling the user list is a requirement in an enterprise
environment, and lacking the username

Patrick, eclipse 3.5 works fine if you install eclipse from the ubuntu
archives (sudo apt-get install eclipse). In that package
/usr/bin/eclipse contains "export GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS=true" so the
buttons work
