Actually, the problem DOES occur with the stock Nautilus patterns as
well - make the window size SMALLER than the dimensions of the stock
background tile image, close and re-open the Nautilus window and you

i found the root of the problem:
after removing the package gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad, i was able to view
the properties window in nautilus as it should be.
the totem player now complains about a missing codec and suggests to
install gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad but there's no memory leakage anymore
no difference, tried as root from my account as within the new one

This has been broken again by the 2.6.31-14-generic kernel - can anyone
else confirm this? I am not able to reboot the machine that often, but I
did reboot to update to what is probably the final version of karmic
today. Doing so installed the kernel above and subsequently broke the
monitor sleepin
The bug is still present in ubuntu and kubuntu 9.10 on eclipse 3.4 and 3.5
either installed from eclipse.org or zend.org.
zend studio even brings his own jre to run eclipse.
eclipse from the ubuntu repository works, but is unable to install any

Thank you for your bug report, it's probably a duplicate though. Not
having it on the login screen is a design decision right now, it has
been decided that the access should be given by an user and not open to
anybody, could be a configuration option though

ubuntu will change now, closing the bug, you are free to use universe
mixer controling alsa though there is plenty of those
