the failure mode is terrible.
Previous releases would fall back to a low resolution driver / X server,
probably using vesa, and then ask you if you wanted to reconfigure your

I used tcsh's limit command to limit memoryuse to 128M and vmemoryuse to
256M, started evolution, composed an email and attached the jpeg. Cpu
usage immediately went to 99.9%, but I was able to do a 'kill -ABRT' and
get a core dump. The process was in /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2 when it
died. On a hu
I can confirm this bug exists with karmic, 2.6.31-12-generic on MSI
WIND. And with 2.6.31-12 it's even worse than with 2.6.31-10 and -11,
cause with 10 and 11 i could stop flashing by pressing brightness
up/down buttons. With 2.6.31-12 i can't. One thing, i'm not sure if it's
kernel version or gnom
I dont recall nautilus ever showed .chm previews for me.
.chm files are still not being thumbnailed with Nautilus 2.28 so this
bug should be reopened.
