I off eth0 and br0 (with them I had difficulties to log in) and this log is

Our current default setting for "/apps/gnome-power-
manager/lock/use_screensaver_settings" is "true", which means that the
screen will not lock on suspend (when you close the lid) if you have
disabled locking in the screensaver preferences. The log above shows

I don't know if this is related. I am hitting this, and I also notice
that Pan (the newsreader) is no longer rendering image/jpeg mime-type
articles in the preview/data window. If that doesn't go away when this

I can confirm that sudo eject /dev/sdb works as expected.
With palimpsest, unmounting the partition and then using the _third_ "eject"
button works.
However, unmounting the partition and the using the _fourth_ "Detach device

Same problem here, nautilus treats every file type as a text file.
But, it's not only nautilus is at fault. Using a terminal to open a pdf
file with evince gives the error message:
File type plain text document (text/plain) is not supported.

As other have mentioned, I also performed the apt-get upgrade process as
root when this happened.

I just finished installing today's updates and am no seeing a slightly
different issue. When I unplug the AC cord, the laptop immediately
notices that the battery is discharging. However, the battery capacity
hangs at 100% for a while. Then it'll drop down to about 94% remaining.
Once that happe
My system monitor window won't close either. I always install latest
updates but it still is open. It isn't really causing any problems
except I have noticed gmail running slower than usual.

Unfortunately, for me, this *was* a data loss bug.
I noticed
"reduced resources" does not fix the issue because it also leaves you
with a ugly and buggy wireframe mode when you move windows. Buggy
because sometimes the wireframe does not completely disappear after you
moved the window.

In that case we have a bigger issue (inconsistency in behavior) because
certain applications come back up (the ones I mentioned) and certain do
not (all other apps that ship with the distribution).

Even with the gconf values on
/desktop/gnome/interface/buttons_have_icons and
/desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons set to false, you will see
that editing menus
The issue appears to be the binary cache format
(~/.local/share/mime/mime.cache) has changed from version 1.1 to 1.2 but what
is reading this file is treating it as in 1.1 format. You can update this
cache file by running:
$ update-mime-database.real -V ~/.local/share/mime/
