I found something interesting that might help resolve this. I was
updating my karmic on my T5810, and AIGLX somehow broke. So it came up
without any hardware 3d acceleration at all, but the brightness applet
and keys worked!

and when I start to create the signature, I "import HTML file" - there is no

It is not easy to workaround, as it requires manual fixing of several
clean build environments like pbuilder chroots. It requires touching of
the Build-Depends line, which is also just stupid to handle buggy
package dependencies. To fix such an issue, nobody in the world will
agree to you to "fix"
You will need to do pass "--sync --no-daemon" to gnome-settings-daemon
in order to get a backtrace for this.

message gets sent (not sure if multiple messages get sent or not. It
