Also, reassigning to glib for now. I've seen this issue reported before
with other functions that iterate over /proc/mounts which have lots of
entries. I had a quick glance at the glib code, and it doesn't seem to
be doing anything really expensive, so this might actually be a glibc

I am confirming that the bug was fixed. I did a clean installation of
karmic Alpha 5, then applied all updates - including Evolution.
When I started Evolution, I was able to restore from backup and all
mail, calendar, settings, etc. were correctly restored.

I also have this bug.
I'm surprised this bug is marked as low, as I would think not being able
to print PDF documents would be a major usability issue. It's the sort
of frustration that could send someone scrambling back to some other OS.
