i've just found the problem, it's coming from GDM, and to be more precise, when
it is being installed and set, it doesn't check the key in gconf to use
background in default!!!
/apps/gdm/settings-manager-plugins/background/active
and this key is set to FALSE by default ;)

have separate icons for panel.

I am now experiencing different behavior than originally reported in
this bug. I CAN modify visible columns in Nautilus. However, when making

Yes, the crash occurs because the GvcMixerStream there was inadvertently
finalized earlier on. I couldn't reliably trigger the crash here, but I
did see lots of invalid reads in valgrind every time I changed the
default sink. I've written a patch which fixes those memory errors and
I'm 99.9%

totem plays fine when the dvd is read, used nautilus to see if the the

Jaunty After dist-upgrade arrow keys and Alt Gr send wrong characters in GNOME
terminal.
You need to report a new bug report upstream yes. That's the way to do
it, there's no magic send upstream button.
