On a Samsung X360 with Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty 64 bit version) I have a
problem with RESUME from hibernate or sleep. In both cases it seems my
computer will sleep/hibernate, and in the latter case when going through
the grub loading
Disabling the sound plugin probably won't fix it, as it is the media-
keys plugin that is using Pulseaudio. (The sound plugin uses it too, but
not all the time). gnome-settings-daemon now uses Pulseaudio for setting
volume (in exactly the same way that gnome-volume-control-applet does),

The attention sound is not happening for me under the same conditions
with Karmic. Actually, I don't seem to be getting any attention sound at
all at the moment, but neither do I see any repeated messages in the

More interesting.. If I mount the filesystem (by clicking on it) as a
normal user, it mounts fine. If I have a root nautilus window open
(gksudo nautilus) then the filesystem shows up as mounted (correctly)
and actually has an icon. The name is duff, but the icon is there... See
screenshot.

It looks like in Karmic alpha3 the backlight works really good.
The only flaw is the relative slowness of each brightness change: it can't
follow rapid changes in the brightness applet slider, but eventually the
brightness reaches the desired value. I can perfectly live with that.

After you begin playing, each time you're "clicking" in the field,
either to select a mine or open a square, the timer gets rewound and the
ticking is going in positive direction. In any case, it is highly
probable that you will end the game in "negative" tim

I can confirm this also on UNR (Jaunty) on an Acer Aspire One.
New nautilus window opened on resume when SSD card is left in the slot.
This opens regardless of unchecking "browse media when inserted" in
nautilus options.

The gstmix version of gnome-volume-control is deprecated. It is
maintained for Solaris by Solaris guys. It's not meant to be a 1-1
substitute of the new gnome-volume-control, which uses the PulseAudio
features (I won't make the long list here).
We decided to opt-in for PulseAudio 1
This is resolved upstream now (the applet will be less agressive when
trying to restart Pulseaudio)

Rolf - We generally use Fix Committed when fixed upstream for Gnome
packages, because we know when they're going to roll new tarballs and
they're generally on time - so if it is fixed upstream then it will be
likely fixed in Ubuntu quite quickly.

Guys what are you planning to do with gnome-volume-control without
pulseaudio? I don't get it: it's completely unuseful. If you remove
pulseaudio you will probably remove

find its way into Ubuntu soon. In the meantime, I have found that creating a
~/.pulse/client.conf file with this single line:
autospawn = false

Interesting. Is someone going to fix this problem? It seem that all
that would be needed is to add the full path to the filename and then
make a hash.
