All that is needed here is an option! Just a simple item in the
preferences that allows you to enable an "are you sure" prompt. No

On karmic alpha 2 the flickering is the same. The brightness keys are reacting
but both keys randomly do nothing (but flickering) or switch with the following
behaviour:

I'm running Ubuntu 9.04, Jaunty on an Asus R1F(and similarly, my father's Asus
R1E). I has a hotswap bay with an extra battery. It works fine when the battery
runs down with the computer is on, but shuts down when you turn on the computer.

Volume labels can be changed using gparted. It is not installed by
default , but is present in the LiveCD.

OK, I ran brasero as requested and posted the debug-file below.
Out of the 8 files on my CD-RW 3 fail the brasero integrity check. When testing
the CD-RW with "md5sum -c .checksum.md5" all 8 files pass.

that it does not run normally. It only works when run as root now.

I can also confirm this for the current gnome-terminal from Karmic.
This makes me suspect it is not a bug in either of the two but in a
commonly used library (vte?).
My first hunch was that this may be a problem in vte, even more so after
going through the dependencies of gnome-terminal and xfce4-

FWIW, I can confirm that this is not dependent on scim running. I know
scim is quite buggy, but this time the culprit is elsewhere ;-)

I want to add details about this problem becoming bigger with karmic.
The new gdm package 2.26 has a real dependency with gnome-session and only
gnome-session.
It means whatever you are using xubuntu it will install gnome-session
metapackage too. For now was a little strange and anoying (because

Previously, one could alter what the user-switcher displayed in the top-right
corner.
With the new switcher, the option to obscure one's name with an icon or a
nickname no longer exists.
