The first upgrade gave me a new login screen and I stayed logged in like
everybody else.
Now for the second one... I don't think It killed the session but simply logged
out. At least aptitude that was running in yakuake didn't get killed until all
updates were processed and firefox
I'm testing Brasero 2.26.1 in Jaunty and there's slight improvement: it
writes CDs at 16x, not 8x. However it's still below wanted 48x.

This patch causes gdm to crash when I select my default user.
After selecting the user, the window resizes, the user-list resizes,
the language selector in the bottom panel gets shown, the window has no
password-entry or ok button though - then the screen goes black and gdm

OK, I just upgraded another machine from gdm 2.20 to 2.26, and can
confirm that for that upgrade, the new gdm is erroneously started on vt8
/ X screen :1 whilst the previous session remains happily alive on vt7 /
:0.

I had a similar experience what I did was
Open movie player (it opened successfully)
Went to Movie>Open>Desktop>(name of avi. movie)
The name of the movie shows up in the play list for maybe half a second and
then Movie Player crashes
So what do you think?

Actually, even without NTP in the equation at all, I see the same here.
In a Jaunty Live CD instance, open Preferences > Time and Date and
configure the location to Europe/Helsinki. Close Time and Date and
observe that /etc/timezone has been correctly updated. Still, reopening
Time and Date displ
... and no matter how many times I try to correct it, it's reset back to
Europe/Mariehamn in the Time and Date applet next time I open it (sorry,
this is in System > Administration, not System > Preferences). This is
consistent with what I have been observing since I think at least 8.04.
Reiterate
This is a design decision Not a papercut.
A paper cut is a minor usability annoyance that an average user would
encounter on his/her first day of using a new installation of Ubuntu
9.10.

the new gdm is a rewrite, the code is totally different, it has a
similar issue and there is a GNOME bug about it but the bug is different
from the codebug fixed 3 years ago in this codebase

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. Unfortunately a paper
cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is
quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of
this project.
Thia does not affect the majority of the users, Hence not a papercut.
Merely using Brasero's master branch doesn't fix this.
When I try to export mp3 to CD from Banshee, I get this in the terminal:

I disagree with with setting this to priority Wishlist. Having a
graphical configuration for the display manager may be a wish for a
server distro, but it certainly is a requirement for Ubuntu. Also this
definetly is a regression.
