This is not bad ui design - it is a bug.
It is a bug when the filename is highlighted but the treeview has the focus.
Everybody would expect that the highlighted filename will be overwritten but
nobody would expect to filter the treeview. So please fix it.

I agree that always having some usable white space in list view is very
important. My usual workaround is to view the parent folder of the
folder that I want to drag to, and then drag to the folder's icon, or
right click it and select paste into folder, but having white space is
useful for other r

What I am asking for is option, that would allow either:
1) to automatically load all movie files to playlist (even if you open
only one movie file), based on file names (case insensitive, using
either 1,2,3 or a,b,c "numbering")
