When one tries to create an IMAP directory that has a dot in it's name,
he gets an error message at the buttom (where all the processes are).
I think that if the IMAP specifications disallow dots, then the user

Sorry, I'm not able to reproduce the bug. The nautilus window just crashed
randomly with no effects on stability. If it does happen again, I'll try to
get a valgrind log.

I applied the patch and got mixed results.
Some launches opened in the correct screen while other did not.
Example Firefox open in the correct screen while System/Shutdown… does
not.
I am using Ubuntu 8.10 amd64.

Ubuntu 8.10 shouldn't have this bug, unless glib or gnome-panel was
updated recently (in which case, shame on the developers for breaking a
working release.)
The patch only fixes application launchers, which is the only thing
anyone mentioned having problems with. Gnome-panel internals are a
whol
then there's no too much we can do, the bug doesn't have a stacktrace
which is needed to debug and see where the crash occurs, i'm closing the
bug for now then, feel free to re open if you can provide more
information about it, thanks.
