Yes you have to enable jaunty-proposed to get it fixed.
I do not know how long it takes to get from proposed to main.
To be honest i have always used proposed repro and i have never had any
problems.
So i would recommend it.

I can confirm this bug on the Acer 4720-6518. Basically all is working with
jaunty except for the Webcam.
The X3100 (graphic Media Acceleration) was resolved by activating
jaunty-proposed and jaunty-backports on the Sources.
The Webcam is for me, until now, unsolvable.

This is annoying - it didn't work properly and there seems no way to
turn it off. Does anybody know where the session settings are kept? I
just want to delete this and not bother about using it. Better just do
