Ubuntu offers the user the chance to close a non-responsive application:
from a users perspective the application is the window they are looking at -
not the desktop. I don't know how easy this would be to fix, and you
obviously don't think it is a problem, but to my eyes killing the Desktop is
not

if a nautilus window is not responding, and you choose to close it, a helpful
dialog will ask whether you want to 'Wait' or 'End Application'.
I expect for the nautilus window to disappear;
instead choosing to end will kill the nautilus window

Same for me. Feeling of 2-10 seconds delays (don't know which direction, both?).
2nd line is a SIP-Phone (Linksys PAP2).
Does 3.2 really work for someone for SIP?

As far as I can see, this bugs seems fixed. No crash and the "Paste" entry in
the context menu is grayed with an empty clipboard.

I need to install gvfs-dbgsym and libhal1-dbgsym. I have gvfs and
libhal1 (running Jaunty) but how do I install the -dbgsym ? Is this
covered in a tutorial?
Or is there another way to resolve this issue, that is, the crashing
of nautilus when removable media are put in the drive?
