After last update of apt-get update in Jaunty, now all of the keyboard
shortcuts work. Great work, thanks.

- installing gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad did actually change something and made
video appear
- sound is not working well though over the whole desktop
The sound problem is not linked to GStreamer since Xine has it too. I'd
suggest you check options in System

Strange indeed. I doubt there is something radically different between Hardy's
and Interpid's enviroments! Err... except me using 64bit Interpid and having
32bit Hardy LiveCD. I think I should also download Interpid 32bit (x86), just

"Themes/Icons/..." located in your home folder. Please try removing
those folders, and disabling the preview feature of nautilus.

I have no trouble reproducing this on Hardy (8.04). I do not have 8.10
installed. The reproduce the problem, I use putty to connect over SSH
to another host. On that host, I kill the sshd parent process and that

OK, so it was like I told in those upper lines: I run top from terminal
and it didn't show any strange CPU usage under XFCE4.
But today, even under XFCE4 CPU consumption is as it was under Gnome
(100% of one
Sebastien, it is still slightly off by a couple of pixels as the lower
window border can't been seen. Admittedly, this case is mostly cosmetic
as no functionality is marred by it.

Crash: a virtual machine I was running locked up and froze. I was forced to
