Yes, if you manually start vino-server then enable it in Remote Desktop
Preferences afterwards, this sets the AutostartCondition to true and
causes gnome-session to start another instance. This instance
immediately exits though because there is already one running, which
triggers this endless cycle

so digging on here on teh babbage board, it seems that with teh new
kernel weher we actually have a working hwclock, setting the clock
properly also fixes the gnome-keyring issue

I used to see this on Hardy. I moved to Intrepid a few months back and
wasn't seeing this bug until this week.
Interestingly, this always happens when I enter a *wrong* password once at the
gnome-screensaver password prompt:
- Lock screen (settings: blank screen, lock when screensaver active).
