Intrepid, latest updates.
I had the same problem with a Google account: Evolution asking me for user name
and password at every start up.
I found that I had to unlock captcha for my account here:
https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha
So in my case there was no problem with Evolution

When playing an AVI on my system, the video constantly flashes after
several frames. The longest stretch I can play an AVI video is 10
seconds.
Other than this flashing, the video playback quality and sound are
