How can I get rid of gnome-system-log in gconf? Uninstalling (and
purging) gnome-utils didn't fix it.

there was a similar issue with hardy but it was fixed, i'm closing this

Confirming here on Jaunty 32bit i386. Dropping to recovery console and
running updates fixed login problem, but verifying Igor's comment above
that system performance is SIGNIFICANTLY lower. Functionality is
restored with new GTK but there is a large performance hit. Hopefully

I have another problem with the unmount/mount dialogs in Nautilus,
related to the bug.
I have a USB stick with four partitions on it. Inserting it in a hardy desktop
machine results in the machine mounting these four partitions nicely under
/media/disk, /media/disk-1, /media/disk-2, /media/disk

Sometimes, when I login, the two panels are shuffled (the upper is in bottom

If there is a unique state for 0% volume which isn't "mute" in the code
then we only need to change the icon name for that state. If not, we
need to add that state.

applied. Upon altering the preferences for said panel to have none (a
solid color), closing the preference window, then re-entering the
preference window and selecting background image
