I have done some more testing. The T400 has an integrated Intel graphics
chip and an ATI card. When using the ATI card, the problem occurs. When
using the Intel card, it does not. If I use the ATI Catalyst Control
Centre app to change the settings, the problem does not occur.

that's a duplicate of bug 322252 , if you increase the size of the panel
you'll see the rest of the icons on the notification area, the problem
is that the notification area is using a row for all the icons in

Binary package hint: brasero
Due to some issues with authoring video DVD I installed latest Brasero
version: 0.9.1. Since that moment it writes CDs at 8x speed, while
previous version wrote them at 48x. Gnomebaker still writes CDs at 48x,
so it's not a drive or OS fault.
