Installed xubuntu 8.10 on my laptop over the weekend and it has the same
issue. Mouse movement alone doesn't keep the screen saver from
activating and once activated the screen saver won't turn off with mouse
movement either. Once the monitor shuts itself off then mouse movement

Sebastien--I thought I was clear enough--There now is no way to change
the default sound theme or default alert volume other than thru gconf.
The capplet had a button to enable that control panel--before it, you
could just goto gnome-control-centre and use the control panel. It has
been removed.

/etc/apt/sources.list . This is not the correct place to be asking "how

Gthumb have 2 different resize tool, one in "image" and one in "tools".
It's strange and unlogic.
I suggest to have them both in the same place or to remove one.

On ubuntu 8.10 (with gnome) the shortcut "alt + s" is supposed to open
the rezise tool (int the "image" submenu) doesn't work. Instead it open
the "signet" submenu.
Gthumb is translate in frend for me, maybe it's the reason.

This does most certainly *does* have a win.
When a new user uses the LiveCD, most often they look through all the
menus first, when they see an ugly icon like the one on gnome-pilot, it
makes Ubuntu itself look lagging behind, like things haven't been
updated. Also it makes it look unprofessional,
Therefore I shall subscribe the ubuntu-main-sponsors again, and would
ask that either
my patch is added into the package
or
the new upstream version is packaged (if that becomes stable and get's
released in time)

I am going to have to disagree with you there Sebastian. I feel as
though these icons should not be packaged in the icon theme.
gconf-editor is the only application to use these icons, and so
unnecessary ones should not be included in the icon theme. I believe
that is why gcon
