I messed around with the source package, nautilus-2.25.2/libnautilus-
private/nautilus-link.c to be specific, and made a change that seems to
fix the problem. In the function
nautilus_link_get_link_name_from_desktop, where type is checked in order
to assign an icon (at least that's what I think it
to be confirmed by somebody using cifs mounts, the delay could be
because nautilus considers those directory local where they are actually
on a slow network, the icons issue describe could be a crash, to be sent
to bugzilla.gnome.org by somebody having the issue

The division operator '/' does not seem to function, and any SQL after that
operator in a query is ignored...
The SQL returns expected values when run from the SQLite database browser, so
this is not a matter of SQL syntax.
