I don't believe the crash is due to kernel version. I am running
2.6.27-11 and everything is fine, so as in other users too. It could be
useful to have a stack trace for that crash.

This is happening to me too with Hardy. Very annoying thing, when using
"network-admin" to configure an interface (wireless), two instances of
SystemToolsBackend.pl get executed and one of them seems to enter a busy
loop for about one minute, and configuration settings don't seem to

I re-linked this bug with Nautilus because this problem (also) shows up

Nautilus also restarts in these cases:
- Inserting/ejecting a CD/DVD
- (Un)plugging my usb card-reader

When I insert a blank DVD-ROM disc into the drive, GNOME shows a dialog
asking me to select the application to launch.
In this dialog, the "blank DVD disc" shows untranslated in my Spanish
desktop. The dialog says:

thanks for the report, confirming, but it could be a libjpeg issue since
gthumb uses the same amount of memory rendering the picture, is that
also the case for you?

I guess we need to first get the values which the light sensor reports
for each of the different models under varying light conditions - then
we can identify which models need correcting / scaling for - ie. as I
mentioned before my MBP 5,1 reports only 4 out of 255 in a reasonably
well lit room so

Ubuntu 8.10 is not like me :P.
I have GPU Nvidia's GeForce 4000MX 64MB RAM and there's no good drivers
3D for my video card and I have problem with font. So I return to Ubuntu
8.04. Compiz ROXXX:)
