Here is the backtrace. some notes
- The USB is mounted as /media/disk
- During the freeze of Rhythmbox, I pressed ctrl-c in gdb
- If I wait until Rhythmbox finishes reading the USB, I can press the arrow
next to the name to see the contents of the USB drive. It seems Rhythmbox
indexes all files a

got the same with rhyhtmbox from trunk, tested the personal radio (my
own one) with banshee and it works fine, I've sent this upstream at:

the stacktrace has no debug symbols, could you install libglib2.0-0-dbg
and get a new one? how many videos do you have in the directory? are you
sure it's just not taking a while, does it stop using cpu if you let it
for some time?
