Autodetect works, Pulse Audio works, and Alsa says: audiotestsrc wave=sine
freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink profile=chat: Could
not get/set settings from/on resource.

Why we do not see more people affected... beats me. I have been running
the new code since very early in the development cycle, and I do not
remember hitting this issue. Of course, I was hit by many others,
including losing all local mail (as a result of the changes that force

I've come across the same error message burning a DVD (from a .ISO)
using growisofs, which I overcame by setting a burning speed manually (
-speed=4).
I suspect it might be an issue with the automatic speed calibration
routines, but I don't know how to debug this further.

with 0.97.2~debian-1ubuntu2 version? Also can you try amsn svn?

gconf-schemas --unregister not removing empty /apps/appname
same here with intrepid, i reinstalled policykit and gnome-system-tools,
