For the past couple of weeks, totem plays videos "half-width": the
height of the video as required, but the width is only half, so the
video looks stretched vertically. The dimensions of the movie are
detected correctly, as shown in the "properties" sidebar. VLC plays the

I'm not sure it is that simple with the current Samba implementation,
because it isn't a case of Samba querying whether the user belongs to
the correct group or not when a share is created. The Nautilus-share
extension (running with normal user privileges) needs write access to
/var/lib/samb

I have this problem still in German vesion, however, to me has struck
has only happened if evolution in on-line modus it is if I off-line does
not switch passed and the news change fast. in on-line modus they change
direct very slowly and if one evolution in this was entitled closes it
hangs itself
This is a bug, as the icon cache should be generated after installing
the packages. I don't understand why you are experiencing this problem,
though, as at least human-icon-theme should already be doing that.

I can confirm that this bug does effect Xubuntu 8.04.1 (Xfce 4.4.2).
When you install Rhythmbox from the repos and then start it up. Those

To be frank I tried to create a backtrace, but... well, I know how to
basically handle a shell, but I did not succeed. Mainly because I would
not know how the gdb package of the panel watch is called. But checking
~.xsession-errors I found this:

Everything is working fine right now. I am still not sure if it was
problem with the flawed kernel (build 21) or something, the problem just
disappeared. So you should close this bug I think.

This breaks on clean installations now. Setting it to "SynPS/2 Synaptics
TouchPad" works fine, but there must be a better way to do it.

gnome-settings-daemon has 4 instances of the old name in
debian/patches/08_extra_touchpad_options.patch. Fixing those as well
gets the Touchpad tab working fine, even with the new Synaptics driver.

I verified with a fresh install of Xubuntu 8.04.1, this problem
persists.
Pedro: Are you using UBUNTU not XUBUNTU?
What Gstreamer, Totem, and Firefox related packages do you have
installed and which versions??
Here is what is on my _fresh_ install:
