The problem was fixed a while ago on my end. I filed this report in beta
testing and I completely forgot about it due to inactivity and I used 7.10
because of a few other bugs that my family couldn't use 8.04 (sorry).
Now F-spot-import starts automatically as it did in prev release with gthumb.

The page www.smoothjazz.com does not provide the radio-stream. If you
click on "Click to listen" on the given page, there is a dialog which
allows you to choose between different types of playlists for different
programs. I've tested a few, the one working for me was

Yeah, it’s a very recent regression in Intrepid. The bug goes away
after downgrading to libvte9 0.16.14-1ubuntu2 and gnome-terminal
