I am still able to repro on a Hardy box, yes.
I downloaded the codectest zip file. I removed the .rm and .swf files
as well as wheeliesorensonvideo2cbr.mov (because I don't believe there
are codecs for those; in any event, the codec installer buddy thingy
can't suggest anything for those) and ran

no, still not confirming, it takes time to go through accounts and the
statusbar indicates "indexing" but it does search correctly. maybe you
could open your bug on bugzilla.gnome.org directly since that's likely
an upstream issue and people who write the code might have better reply
there

I started using Ubuntu 8.04 recently. I installed XChat from GUI, which turned
out to be xchat-gnome. I expected it to support multiple idents (equals to user
name in XChat) because I'm also using a bouncer account that requires diff
Clarification: the codec is missing, but it would be nice if either (a)
Totem, or the codec installer thing, would tell me that I need to
restart Totem in order for things to work; or (b) even better, if no
restart was required.

supposed a duplicate of this bug (found nothing better) i just wanted to
add that i have a up-to-date system (as of today, august, 1st) and
things are still broken.

Also, things were overall a lot better on Hardy than with Gutsy. Most
of the clips played fine with just one restart. All of the ones I was
