I don't understand from the description how the problem manifests
itself. "Broke my GNOME"? Are you thrown back to the gdm greeter just
after logging in? Does a failsafe gnome or terminal session work? Any

I would like to comment that the bug is still in hardy, but the problem
is it will not even open up the Floppy drive, as well as USB drives and

system is set up regarding $HOME and the current directory. Also please

seeing as the last person to follow had issues in their pioneer 110D dvd
writer, i had a 112D dvd writer that wasn't working, and i had not
updated the firmware for quite sometime (1.5years or so). i swapped it
out to a windows machine just so i could update the firmware, after
doing so, reinstall
It seems to me that gnome-vfs works fine (through command line and Firefox, at
least). The problems is Nautilus: it seems it doesn't sends user credentials,
but tries to connect to server as guest, ignoring the username in the uri, nor
sending the username currently logged in.

is waiting for an upstream comment on the change, adding noise to the

Hello,
Just recently I was helping a friend switch to Ubuntu when I encounter a
few bugs. My friend has a MT3705 gateway laptop. The bug I encountered
is with the panel. Even though there's a bunch of stuff on the panel,
when I login for the first time, it's blank. No menu bu
