I have the same issue.To get a distro iso burned on dvd or cd i have to waste
mani discs to get one working.
It happens with ide and sata drives ,I tried differents brands of dvd and cds
and always verify the md5 sum before burning.
Nero on win works ok

If I set brightness to the dimmest setting using the brightness app (I
put a button for this on my panel and use that), then this will be reset
to full brightness whenever I close the laptop lid or log out. In the

I have a solution that I think is as near perfect as it gets. It is very
simple.
The problem: I need NetworkManager for connecting my laptop to wifi and
ethernet. However, it messes me up when I am on PPP.
The solution: kill Network Manager before running pppd and revive it
after, e.g.:

Well, actually I have used kde for the last year.. So I couldn't tell you about
this bug right now. However, there is an answer to your mail from another
person that confirms the persistence of the bug on Hardy.
