I'm reopening this bug, as I can also confirm this bug on Ubuntu 8.04 „Hardy“.
This bug can be confirmed in both modes:
1. Run Gedit, choose File->Open Location (CTRL+L) and write ftp address of the
file you wanna open (eg. ftp://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/incoming/intel_xv_attr.diff
2. Go to Places->Conn
I have loaded ubuntu fiesty on my mac ppc and every morning when i start
the comp, the date gets reset to 1904/01/01 and nautilus crashes too
asking if the applets are to be deleted. It doesn't work until I type in
"killall bonobo-activation server" and restart nautilus using Alt-F2.
Any solutions
I removed fast-switch-user-applet. The option still appears when
clicking System->Quit from an LTSP/LDM terminal - For my users I'd
rather remove the option entirely; it is not used and having the button
there makes them think "hey what's this let me click it"

Strangely, I think this may actually be related to Parallels. I just
realized that this seems to happen shortly after opening Parallels. It
is pretty unstable on Hardy, and I think whatever corruption it is
causing is manifesting this way. I would forget this bug. I do not think

I think that the svg files shouldn't be in the 22x22 directory. Maybe
that causes problems, which would explain why changing the Icon key in
the desktop file to "seahorse.png" fixes the issue.
On the other hand, I tried deleting the svg icons and copying the files

Thanks for reporting. I'm not sure I understand. Who or what is doing
the template installation, and why are there two templates with the same
exact name with a " 1" tacked on to the end? Can you describe the exact
procedure used here?

I've had the problem again and I can now reproduce it. It seems to come from a
specific mix of root/user file access in subdirectories.
1. create a directory as simple user : mkdir testfolder1
2. inside this directory, create another one as root : sudo mkdir testfolder2
3. in that one, put a user
