1. Temporarily turn off automatic ntp updates.
2. This enabled the "Synchronize Now" button on the GUI. The correct time

Usually, we give back any bug fixes that where done in the course of
troubleshooting a customer's issue, but we try very hard
I beleive this is a well-known "feature" in the kernel itself. It
prioritizes file operations.
I can confirm this going on with .tar backups and beleive it's the same
phenomenon. When working with large files, the kernel uses so much
resources that the user interface part becomes sluggish or unr

this bug is connected to bug #202170. tHIS CAME ABOUT AFTER installing
mozilla movie player for seamonkey.. I lost repositorys and it accually
was unistalling things from computer. Reinstalled ubuntu 8.04 and
everything is fine now. They have done a fix on it that works in the
furture. but wat help
